A total of 81 trainees were admitted to the 10th basic training course. This year’s course, however, began under unusual circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some trainees were initially unable to travel to the campus due to the tense security situation, limited transport options, and fuel shortages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others used this waiting period to prepare for their national examinations. Ten trainees took the Dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00c9tudes Fondamentales (DEF) or the Certificat d\u2019Aptitude Professionnelle (CAP) and then returned to continue their training at CAAS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a renewed assessment in mid-June, it became clear that 26 of the trainees originally admitted would not return to the campus after the Tabaski holiday (Eid al-Adha). Most of them come from the regions of S\u00e9gou and Mopti. Many parents are concerned about their daughters’ safety in view of the insecurity and the fact that some roads have become impassable. It was therefore decided not to wait any longer and to continue the course with those trainees who were present. Those who were unable to begin their training for these reasons will, in principle, still have the opportunity to participate in one of the upcoming basic training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 10th basic training course currently consists of 55 trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trainees on campus have settled in well and are learning with great commitment. The photographs show practical lessons in food processing under the large CAAS hangar. Working in four groups, the trainees prepare a variety of products, including spices, dairy products, mango juice, and herbal teas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
