Photovoltaic panels with a nominal output of 136.5 kilowatts peak are installed on the roofs of four buildings on the campus.

The technical room with grid inverters with an AC output of 135 kW and battery inverters with a DC output of 72 kW for controlling production, direct consumption and storage is located in the technical room under the central hangar.

96 solar batteries with a storage capacity of 662.6 kWh-c10/48V store the electricity generated in a separate battery room.
The Malian-German company Yandalux Solar GmbH (based in Hamburg), which is represented throughout West Africa, designed and installed the system and maintains it four times a year. Yandalux also trained the CAAS employees in the operation and preventive maintenance of the system. The operating processes can be tracked and controlled remotely via the remote maintenance portal. Production exceeds the current requirements of the campus and annex. The plant has been planned and designed in such a way that surplus electricity can be fed into national or local grids. By the end of 2023, CAAS itself will construct and operate a local mini-grid for the village of Kalassa.
