This year, 32 students from the school in Kalassa were registered for the national examination taken after the ninth grade: the Diplôme d’Études Fondamentales (DEF). Among the candidates were 19 girls and 13 boys.
We are delighted to report that all 32 students successfully passed the examination. Such an achievement is exceptional in the Mandé region and perhaps even in Mali as a whole – especially considering that this is only the second year since the school opened.

Anyone visiting the school in Kalassa immediately recognizes how worthwhile and sustainable the investments in education have been. The new school building was carefully designed to suit the local climate and is bright, well ventilated, and child- and learning-friendly. It provides excellent conditions for successful learning. The teachers are highly committed, and the students are motivated, enjoy attending school, and actively participate in lessons.
Thanks to two generous donations, two additional school buildings are currently being constructed in Kalassa. This means that children from first through sixth grade will soon also be able to learn under these excellent conditions. In addition, a kindergarten will be housed on the school grounds.
