Award of the German Federal Cross of Merit to Dr. Gunthard Weber
We are delighted that Dr. Gunthard Weber has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. The award was presented by Lord Mayor Dirk Elkemann at the New Year’s reception of the town of Wiesloch. A speech by our project coordinator Dr. Henner Papendieck gave the audience an insight into the work in Mali, for which Gunthard Weber was honored, with the help of impressive visual material: Firstly, in the association founded 20 years ago together with his wife Nele Weber-Jensen and Ruth and Wilfried Hoffer Häuser der Hoffnung – Schulbildung für Afrika e.V., since 2017 with a focus on the Centre Agro-Alimentaire Siby (CAAS) documented here.
Gunthard Weber thanked the employees, supporters and donors of the projects, above all the Klaus-Tschira-Stiftung, without whom the realization of this exemplary enterprise would not have been possible.
