The school community – teachers, students and parents – had prepared everything for the inauguration, set up chairs and installed a loudspeaker system. The CAAS campus kitchen took care of the guests’ physical well-being.On November 14, 2024, the official opening of the new school building took place in Kalassa in the presence of all dignitaries from the region: The governor of the Koulikoro region, Colonel Lamine Kapory Sanogo, had traveled with all the heads of office of his region. There were also representatives from the municipality of Siby and the three other municipalities of the former arrondissement of Siby.

Speeches by the representative of the village chiefs of Kalassa, the mayor of Siby, Henner Papendieck, the director of the Center d’Animation Pédagogique (CAP) and the governor formed the official part of the event.
The building is used for grades 7 to 9. Previously, the youngsters had to walk three kilometers to Siby, where the school is very overcrowded. Generous private donations helped to finance the construction. The first school year is supported by a donation from the Häuser der Hoffnung – Schulbildung für Afrika e.V. association
