CAAS offers particularly committed alumni from previous training cohorts the opportunity to further develop their skills, gain practical work experience, and gradually take on greater responsibility. Currently, seven former trainees are working as interns – an arrangement commonly referred to as a stage in Mali. Six of them work in food processing, while one works on the campus. Some completed their training only recently, while others graduated in earlier years.
The interns have become an important part of the production team. They contribute to the production of the various CAAS products while also supporting practical training. They share their experience with current trainees and guide them through the different stages of food processing. Production is coordinated by Diola Keita.
These longer-term internships give particularly motivated and qualified graduates the opportunity to consolidate their professional skills and gain experience in the day-to-day operations of a professional enterprise. At the same time, they gradually take on tasks and responsibilities more independently. An internship can therefore also serve as a bridge to future permanent employment.
We would like to expand this program in the future and give more young women the opportunity to make a supported transition into professional life after completing their training.
